Grandfather Lench is a Vietnam war veteran who vowed to move people in the direction of peace and balance after spending a year and a half in combat. In the late 80s, he began taking people out to the desert where, with the use of indigenous medicine – storytelling, rituals, and ceremonies, he has facilitated spiritual awakenings. The film documents Grandfather Lench’s work with Lyndsay – a young woman who has been struggling with elusive memories of sexual abuse in childhood, unexplained physical pain and illnesses, and a persistent tug-of-war between what’s real and what’s imagined. The very first Race4Good in the U.S. was held in Los Angeles in the spring of 2017 and took us all to a remote village of Thangdor in Nepal, which was devastated by the 2015 earthquake and which needed a hand up for an economic uplift.
